I just discovered this site, and this article so reflects how I deal with bird bones, of those who fell to the highways harshness. Blessed be the bones who carried a beautiful spirit, which had to be shed prematurely!

I’m so glad you saw yourself reflected in the piece! I never thought too much about bones, so Gabrielle’s article was fascinating for me. But I think it’s a beautiful way to honor the spirit!

I have done this kind of reverent thankfulness since I moved out on my own in 1972! I have necklaces & wall hangings made of bones I have cleaned after finding in the woods or cooking for dinner. My mother passed away when I was 10, but she had a grace that no menial chore could ever diminish!
